When Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union was looking for a Text Messaging partner, they turned to the Heartland Credit Union Association (HCUA) for guidance. With the association’s endorsement as well as several other Credit Unions’ stamps of approval, the Topeka-based $52M AUM institution selected Eltropy.
Before Text Messaging became available, CU employees and members would find themselves playing phone tag, leading to delays and inefficiencies in operations.
“We would sometimes exchange multiple voicemails with members just to get answers to simple questions,” said Stacy Montgomery, assistant manager at Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union.
Montgomery reports that training and deployment was “easy, straight-forward and painless,” with the CU up-and-running in less time than expected. Additionally, the Credit Union’s lending staff has already reported that the ability to receive pay stubs through Eltropy’s platform is a “game-changer.”
“Members love the ease with which they can communicate with us and are impressed we have this technology available for a small CU like us,” said Montomgery.
Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union hopes to increase opt-ins with additional marketing and communication efforts so it can fully utilize all of the tools that Eltropy’s suite of products offers. Additionally, the CU is continuing to learn about additional Eltropy use cases and how they could potentially fit into their institution.
